The manical mom charged with throwing her 3-week-old-son to his death from a fourth-floor Queens window told cops that an evil spirit had taken over her baby’s body, prosecutors said Saturday.
Rashida Chowdhury’s disturbing admission was revealed as she was arraigned Saturday night on murder charges at Queens Criminal Court.
Prosecutors said Chowdhury, 21, confessed to throwing tiny Rizwan Ahmad out the window of her Richmond Hill Apartment in a crazed bid to save him from an evil spirit.
Chowdhury, wearing a blue t-shirt and a blank expression, was ordered held with bail and was placed on suicide watch.
A family member in the audience broke down as Chowdhury was led out of the courtroom.
Chowdhury was arrested one day after her child was discovered in the trash-strewn courtyard below their 115th St. apartment, cops said.
“This a truly horrific and disturbing case of a mother accused of killing her helpless infant son,” said Queens District Attorney Richard Brown. “He fell more than 40 feet to the pavement and died. The alleged actions of the defendant are totally incomprehensible.”
Rizwan Ahmad, wearing his blue and white onesie, was found in a pool of his own blood. He died at the scene.
