Woman Hires Limousine to Travel to Mall to Shoplift Merchandise Worth $300

A woman of Minnesota, is accused of taking the limousine to steal from a store in Rochester, before calling the limousine driver to take her back to her hotel.

The limousine driver was instrumental in helping the police find the woman who allegedly fought with store security guards before running off with about $300 worth of clothing and headbands, Lt. Jim Evenson said.

The incident began around 7:15 p.m. on Monday, when officers were called to Scheels All Sports sporting goods store, for a report of a shoplifter.

The woman managed to run away from the store. Officers
searched the
area for the 22-year-old suspect.

As they searched the area, the driver of the limousine stopped and asked who they were looking for. When he heard the description, he told officers that the suspect could be the woman who he brought to the mall, and he is about to pick up.

Law enforcement followed the driver to the spot where the woman asked to be picked up and arrested her, Evenson said.

The driver told police that he picked up the suspect from the Kahler Grand Hotel and she asked to be taken to the Apache Mall.

After the incident of shoplifting, she apparently called for a ride back to the hotel, where she was staying.

According to the police report, the woman from Moorhead, told police that she was in town as a personal care attendant for someone seeking medical treatment in Rochester.
