Giwa FC Attacked By Robbers

Players and officials of Glo Premier League side Giwa Football of Jos  were on Monday night attacked by armed bandits on their way to Umuahia to honour their week 21 clash against Abia Warriors, completesportsnigeria.com can report.
The robbery incident completesportsnigeria.com scooped occurred around a village close to Umuahia at about  10:35pm in the night.
An official of the club, Sammy Adesoji, who confirmed the incident to completesportsnigeria.com said though the robbers carted some valuables during the attack, no lives were lost.
"It was a strange incident as we had never experienced such on our travels," he opened up in a chat with completesportsnigeria.com.
"We thought the guys were security operatives because of the way they dressed and our driver fell for that.
"Immediately he stopped the bus, they swooped us and took away our phones and other valuables.
"Few minutes later, some policemen arrived at the scene and escorted us to Umuahia.
"We thank God that no life was lost in the incident and we are ready to take on Abia Warriors on Wednesday."
