Drake Releases New 'Hotline Bling' Video On Apple Music

On Monday night, Drake released the video for “Hotline Bling,” his single currently at No. 2 on the Billboard charts, via Apple Music. After a nod to the actual hotline referenced in the title, the bulk of the video’s five minutes features Drake, bathed in candy-colored light, dancing against a stark background.

Come Tuesday morning, the rapper-slash-singer’s dancing—which, according to Internet consensus, may be justly described as goofy—had inspired a vast assortment of memes, setting his moves to songs that might seem incongruous if not for their surprisingly fitting beats. Diddy Tops Jay Z on New Forbes List of Richest Rappers

Sean “Diddy” tops the list of the world’s highest paid stars in hip hop, edging out Jay Z and Drake on the 2015 “Hip Hop Cash Kings” tally, revealed Tuesday.

Harlem native Combs, 45, made an estimated $60 million between June 2014 and June 2015, from investments outside of music, such as his TV network Revolt and Ciroc vodka, the publication calculated.

Runner up Jay Z, also 45, earned an estimated $56 million from business ventures in music, sports and lifestyle. His 22 shows with his wife, singer Beyonce, helped boost his earnings, Forbes said.

Canadian rapper Drake, 28, came in at No. 3 with $39.5 million, the bulk of which came from touring, as well as high profile endorsements from Sprite and Nike.


Nicki Minaj was the only woman to crack into the top ten of the highest paid hip hop acts, coming in at No. 9 with $21 million from touring and endorsements.

Forbes calculated its list using pre-tax income figures from factors such as record sales, touring, streaming and endorsements using data from Nielsen SoundScan, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and interviews with managers, lawyers and in some cases, the artists themselves.

Other hip hop moguls in the top teninclude Beats co-founder Dr. Dre and rappers Eminem and Kanye West.

Meek Mill Takes Down His 'Wanna Know' Drake Diss From Soundcloud

The Meek/drake beef had the internet on fire for a minute, but it's mostly died down now. Drake now regretting the beff and wishes he never entertained it.
He made the comment on Instagram before quickly deleting the post. Luckily, a Twitter user, @IamAkademiks was able to screen shot it before he took it down.

The rapper also took down "Wanna Know", his diss track to Drake, from his Soundcloud.

There are rumours that Drake plans to deliver his third and final diss against Meek Mill tonight during the OVO Music Festival in Toronto. The new diss song is titled 'Three Strikes' and they say it will be more brutal.

OVO FEST: 2 Dead At Drake's After Party

Two people have died and others are wounded after someone began shooting at Drake’s OVO Fest after-party in Toronto. It happened just after 3 AM Tuesday. Someone began shooting inside Muzik nightclub, where Drake was hosting the official after-party. One person was shot dead inside the club. At least one gunman took it outside the club and more gunshots filled the air.

In all, a man and women died. At least 3 others are hospitalized. It's unclear if Drake was in the club when the shooting erupted, TMZ reports.

It's not the first time this has happened at Muzik. A man was shot at last year's OVO Fest after-party.

Twitter wants to know who is the guy who allegedly pissed on Drake, as per Meek Mill’s diss track “Wanna Know.” According to the MMG signee, the incident took place in a movie theater and the guy who “assaulted” Drizzy with his schlong was a friend of T.I.’s. Thanks to the Internet, we figured out the incident happened back in 2010 during the premiere of Takers, starring Tip and Chris Brown, among others. The T.I. affiliate who peed on Drake is Cap. We learned that the latter was drunk during the projection and decided to relieve himself in the aisle. However, he accidentally peed on the OVO Sound leader, who was sneered for failing to react. 

Other than that, here’s some additional information about Cap. His real name is Terrance Beasley and he is first cousin of C-Rod. In 1998, when he was just 18-year-old, he was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm. The Tip affiliate killed Rodriguez Hamm, 17, following an argument at a birthday party November 22nd, 1998, at the Brewer Street home of the victim’s grandmother. He was sentenced to life. 

Beasley was reportedly released in 2006 on parole due to the circumstances in his case pointing to self-defense. However, motion for a second trial was granted in 2009. Cap was sentenced again on August 24th, 2011 and is currently behind bars in Georgia prison on his original charges and sentence. 

In an unrelated incident, Beasley, along with Killer Mike and others, was named in a 2010 lawsuit filed by an Atlanta studio recording technician, Norris Gresham, against rapper T.I. The victim claimed he was held hostage for over 12 hours at Echo Studios where he was beaten over a missing chain. The Hustle Gang head honcho himself was reportedly not present at the time of the incident.

There were many things Meek Mill wanted to know in the diss track he released early on Friday. Like how he went "I just wanna know, if you ain't write that running through the six shit/ Tell us who the fuck the Quentin out here running through the six with?"

This was in reference to a hit from Drake's last Album, "If You're Reading This Its Too Late". Meek Mill claims Quentin Miller wrote the catchy lyrics on the "Know Yourself" track "running through the six with my woes".

At this point, the worst case scenario for Meek Mill in his beef with Drake is the Canadian to drop a third diss record before he has responded to the first two. With “Charged Up” and “Back to Back Freestyle” doing enough of a damage for the whole hip-hop-orientated Twitter community to make fun of Nicki Minaj’s boo, another track by Drizzy aimed at him will pretty much put an end to the whole conversation. 

Word on the web actually has it a third diss might actually be on the way. The speculations were spawned by several tweets by key figures. To begin with, Vinylz, who has co-produced a handful of Drake tracks – “5 AM in Toronto,” “The Language,” “0 to 100 / The Catch Up” and “Know Yourself” – in addition to a few collaborations, including the controversial “R.I.C.O.”, issued a few public messages the other day, writing “New music on the way... #TheRunContinues ......,” and, “This one is soooo unexpected.” Then last night, iLoveMakonnen tweeted, “3 in a row tonight. Back to back to back now.” While some point out he is referring to tour, there might be a slight chance he made a double entendre. Another OVO affiliate also hinted at the arrival of a third diss.

Meek Mill Apologizes To Nicki Minaj For his Anti-Drake Rant

Meek Mill must have really pissed off Nicki Minaj with his Drake-bashing ... because he gave her a very public apology, and sorta backpedaled off his Drake hate.

Meek and Nicki were performing Wednesday night in Virginia when he gave her a "special apology" for absolutely ripping apart her mentor and BFF, Drake ... claiming he doesn't write his own rhymes.
