A man blamed for a security breach at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport slipped onto a jet to try to stop his girlfriend from leaving, police said.
An airport police report released Tuesday said Damarias Cockerham of Garland faces a criminal trespass charge.
Cockerham on Sunday afternoon 'walked' through a checkpoint without identification or a ticket, the report said.
Authorities said Cockerham ran onto American Airlines Flight 1013, boarding for Guatemala City, Guatemala.
According to police, Cockerham appeared upset, then got off the plane and was arrested.
Cockerham 'began crying and would not cooperate or answer any of our questions,' the Dallas Morning News quoted part of the police report as saying.
In another report excerpt published by the newspaper, Cockerham explained 'he didn't want his girlfriend going down there and being with the wrong guy.'
Police took Cockerham's keys, then found his car parked curbside at Terminal D.
The Dallas Morning News, citing the police report, said a K9 search did not uncover explosives in Cockerham's car.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is reviewing the breach and has added more barriers to screening areas at the airport.
