KOKO GARRI: D'Banj slams Government And Nigerians For Not Supporting Local Product

D'banj slammed Nigerians for placing much attention of imported products and failed to support their own insisting many of the products we embrace and cherish in the country are foreign products. He then hinted that, he will kick off a Kokogarri competition where the winner will have a chance to represent the brand and get a start up capital for the Koko garri business.

Who owns Ciroc vodka? Who owns Beats headphones? Who own RocknRepublic? The list goes on. What we do in Nigeria is to laugh at people’s hustle. And when it starts paying, creating jobs and moving the person to the next level, we are quick to ask why is the person living so large? Does he know how many people are hustling and going to bed hungry? But we don’t consider the person’s hustle in the beginning worthy of support. I am a strong Supporter of Nigerian Brands. How many politicians bought this Koko Garri to give their supporters? But they gave imported rice abi? When Otunba Ghadaffi started his mobile toilets, people called him “Agbe po!!!” It wasn’t for long, others joined DMT to do what he was laughed at. I know that a few think what’s DBanj thinking to invest in Garri. Newsflash!!!! I bet you all that is a $30b market. KOKOGARRI to be promoted & distributed in hotels and restaurants. Wherever beans and moi-moi is served, there should be packs of Koko Garri as options to pap, dodo and yam. Trust me, you will see how it will grow. I think there should be a Garri soaking competition sef. The hamburger competitions we see on television don’t even have as much entertainment value…

MAMAs: Basketmouth Apologizes To D'Banj And Davido

Basketmouth took to instagram to apologize to D'banj and Davido over MAMAs comment.

BasketMouth – How Did D’banj Win the MTV Awards ?

D’banj claimed the Evolutionary Award at the recently held MTV Mama Awards and this has aroused some curiosity as to what to quantify the award with in terms of his artistic works in past years. A lot of people have shared their opinions through social media platforms while others have decided to be quite with it and let it go. BasketMouth at his event BasketMouth Uncensored 2015 which was held in Houston, Texas share his quota of rants pertaining the MTV Awards. He congratulated some, gave a good remark to his fans as the awards he needs and also asked why did D’banj win the Evolutionary Award.


He said:

"The first Award that they will nominate me for, that I really respected was that Award, I really love the fact that I was nominated.” BasketMouth says, referring to his MTV Awards nomination.

He then continued by saying “Technically, I do not look at awards to judge how much I’m good; yea… My Award is you people… Yea… For the fact that you guys are coming to watch me, I got this much award. Like around the world… You guys are awesome, Thank you”

“Nigeria, we are blessed.. When they were doing the awards.. P’Square, they won like 2 awards, best duo, Best this one.. D’Banj won.. I don’t know why…” and the crowd busted into laughter.. LOL

And finally about who won, he said: “Davido won above WizKid, which is quite strange, but it’s allowed.. It’s allowed.”

D'banj Wins #MTvMamaEvolution Award and Dedicates it to Don Jazzy

D’banj who was nominated alongside 2Face idibia, Anselmo Ralph, asa, Black Coffee Chameleon Fally Ipupa, HHP, P-square & Samini carted away with the 2015 Evolution Awards.

And guess what? He dedicated the award most especially to his long time friend and ex partner, Don jazzy.
