A 40-year-old bricklayer identified as Ichie, has been reported dead after he went on a drinking spree in a local joint in Ijiyapi, Byazhin Across in Kubwa, a satellite town in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The deceased was said to have consumed so much local gin popularly called 'Ogogoro' on an empty stomach and at a point, he started vomiting, which led to his eventual death later that night.
It was gathered that the man who was single, had been warned several times to desist from his drinking habit but he had always ignored the warnings, which eventually led to his demise.
An eye witness said:
“He went to the drinking spot that day to drink without eating anything just to come back to his house later that day to start vomiting.
One of his sister's came back later and met him unconscious and raised an alarm. He died as he was being rushed to the Kubwa General Hospital.”
