A woman who killed eight of her newborn babies between 1989 and 2000 in northern France has been sentenced to nine years in prison.
Dominique Cottrez, who confessed to have suffocated eight of her newborn babies after secretly giving birth at home reason being that she was unsure who the father was, has been sentenced to nine years in prison.
Cottrez, who is obese said she had a long incestuous relationship with her father and feared the babies might be his.
Due to her obesity, she managed to hide her pregnancy from everyone.
The defence had argued that Cottrez who is a former health worker should be acquitted because of her troubled mental state. So, she escaped the 18 years prosecution.
