China Breaks World's Record For Largest Umbrella

An umbrella company in east China’s Jiangxi Province has earned its place in the Guinness Book of World Records for creating the world’s largest umbrella.

The umbrella of around 23 meters in diameter and 14.4 meters in height, has been certificated by Chinese representatives of Guinness World Records on Monday in Xingzi County of Jiangxi, the county’s publicity department said.

The umbrella weighing 5.7 tonnes and standing in a plaza covers an area of 418 square meters, it said.
Previous world record was held by an umbrella with 17.06 meters diameter and 10.97 meters height in India in 2010.

Colombian model faces death penalty in China for drug trafficking

A 22-year-old model from Colombia, Juliana Lopez, who was on her way to the Miss World Modelling Beauty Pageant through China, is staring certain death in the face after she was nabbed with a large quantity of drugs hidden in her laptop, reports Emirate 247.

According to the report, Lopez had stopped over in China to shop for items to stock her classy boutique back home when she was apprehended and with drug trafficking carrying the death sentence in that country, she could receive the capital punishment.

Shortly after she was arrested, her family lost contact and got in touch with the Colombian embassy but were shocked to learn she had been arrested and could face execution.

Chinese officials told the family Lopez was caught with a large quantity of a banned substance inside her laptop.

Her family is now desperately trying to raise funds to visit and cover Lopez's legal costs while the Colombian Foreign Ministry is reportedly assisting her as the investigation goes on, which is expected to take up to two years.

According to Amnesty International, China has the highest execution rate of any country, and carries out more executions than the rest of the world combined.

Man Chops off manhood Because His Wife Dumped Him

A 41-year-old chinese man was rushed to a hospital after he tried to commit suicide by cutting off his manhood, police said. The man identified as Chan, cut off part of his penis while heavily intoxicated because his life became too difficult after his wife divorced him. He was found by passersby on the side of the river bleeding profusely, and was immediately taken to the hospital. Doctors only treated his wounds because his manhood was lost in the river. Chan told doctors that he felt nothing as he cut off his organ. Chan said that at first, he was very happy with his wife, but after she got a job at a bar, they began to fight. He said his that wife was disappointed about not having enough money. The couple divorced three years ago. Chan complaint that his wife took away his house and child.
