Akon In Nigeria To Visit Tinubu, Ambode & Dangote Today

Akon arrived Lagos state thursday night (July 30th 2015) in company of Guinea Ambassador to Nigeria Usman Mohammed Yara and was treated to a private reception inside Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island.

He will be expected to visit the All Progress Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, and the Lagos state governor, Akinwumi Ambode friday ( July 31st.)

Akon's visit may not be unconnected with parts of his effort to help bring energy to 600 million Africans, as he recently entered a public-private partnership with various entities across the globe with the promise to help bring energy into millions of homes in Africa.

The 'Akon Lighting Africa' project includes installation of solar equipment in households as well as the promotion of their energy sufficiency which will allow millions of Africans access to electricity.

The project plans to start delivering village-level solar power to allow people to enjoy electricity and equally create massive employment.
