Egypt: Gunmen Open Fire at Hotel Used by Foreigners

Gunmen on Friday opened fire at the entrance of a hotel used by foreign tourists in the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Hurghada, security sources said.

Two foreign tourists, one from Germany and one from Denmarkwere said to have been wounded. Security forces had repelled the attack, the report said.

It was gathered that one of the gunmen was killed by Egyptian security forces killed.

The assailants arrived by sea to carry out the assault, the sources said.

I’m sure 2015 must be really feeling fly as fv*k that them industry topshots swerved the year back, forth and roundabout with serious drama and many other activities that eventually saw the last quarter especially, doling out as much as 6 or is it 7 albums from confirmed music heavyweights. Fast and Furious: Vin Diesel Confirms 3 More Films in the Franchise

Producer and co-creator of the recording breaking 'Fast and Furious' franchise, Vin Diesel, has confirmed that there would be three more films in the franchise.

According to Diesel, he promised Universal Studio one last trilogy to end the saga.

'Furious 7' which was released April this year, brought in over $1.5bn in the global box office, contributing to Universal Studio's 2015 record breaking achievement. Diesel took to his Facebook account to confirm the trilogy.

"The fans of the Fast & Furious SAGA are the best fans in the world … Since I became the producer in 2008, you have been with me every step of the way … literally giving me feedback that proved invaluable. Thank you. My producing partner Neal would love for me to just sign off on a director, but this is too special a franchise, so these matters have to be very carefully handled. To be clear, NO ONE has been offered to helm Fast 8 yet … let alone seen a script.

Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision … they have been like family … I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga.

I will announce the directors on my next post ," he wrote. 

Diesel previously announced that the 8th installment in franchise will debut  April 14, 2017.

Transformers 5: Michael Bay Confirms "He will direct the sequel"

After rumours that Michael Bay won't be directing the fifth "Transformers" movie, the director has confirmed that he will return for the upcoming film, which is scheduled  for a summer 2017 release.

“I’m doing Transformers … 5, is it?” Bay tells Rolling Stone. “J.J. [Abrams] told me, ‘You’re the only guy that could do this.’ But it’s time to move on. One more.” "Transformers 5" is set to be written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who wrote Marvel's "Iron Man," alongside Ken Nolan.

Wahlberg who played Cade Yeager, a Texas inventor and mechanic in the In the fourth film, “Age of Extinction,” recently confirmed his return to franchise.

Gunmen Assassinate Driver to Fayose's Aide Few Months After Assassinating Him

The driver of an aide of Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, was shot dead by unknown gunmen wearing masks this morning while he was traveling along the Aramoko and Igede road in Ekiti state. This killing comes after the aide, Aderiye Omolafe himself was shot dead by unknown gunmen at his office in Ijigbo in September last year. Omolafe was a former Chairman of the Ekiti state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

Lagos State Government Closes Oshodi Market for Security Reasons

Lagos State Government yesterday shut down Owonifari market in the Oshodi, Oshodi/Isolo Local Government, aimed at addressing the security challenges in the area.
Lagos State Government often arrested hoodlums in Oshodi for various robberies and other petty incidents.Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, lamented that the market has constituted a menace and an eyesore to the locality.
He added that they have relocated affected traders and shop owners to the newly built Isopakodowo market stalls at Bolade area in Oshodi. The government has also started fencing-off of the set-back on Agege Motor Road that stretches from Ilupeju end of Oshodi all the way to the PWD/Ikeja GRA end of the area.

He said that the fencing-off of the long stretch of the set-back is being undertaken to assist the Federal Government and the Nigerian Railway Corporation in particular with a view to beautifying it and safeguard lives along the railway corridor by discouraging street trading and indiscriminate use of the space.

In the statement,  Ayorinde added that the Owonifari loop will be transformed into an ultra modern bus terminus with new bus shelters that are befitting of a structured park in a mega city.

He stated further that Oshodi will be sane and safe and a place where both traders and commuters would be pleased to visit and trade.

North Korea Conducts Successful Hydrogen Bomb Test

North Korea yesterday conducted a 'successful' hydrogen bomb test, Pyongyang has confirmed.

The detonation of the thermonuclear weapon triggered a 5.1 magnitude earthquake when it exploded at 10am local time at the Punggye-ri test site in the north east of the country, the tremors of which were felt many miles away.

Its ignition ends weeks of speculation that leader Kim Jong-Un had developed such a weapon, which is lighter yet even more powerful than the fission blast generated by nuclear bombs containing uranium or plutonium alone. 'The republic's first hydrogen bomb test has been successfully performed at 10am on January 6, 2016, based on the strategic determination of the Workers' Party,' a state television news reader announced five-and-a-half hours after the blast.

Reading a typically propaganda-heavy statement, the anchor confirmed that a 'miniaturised' hydrogen bomb had been detonated in an operation that was deemed a 'perfect success'.She added that in doing so, North Korea 'joined the rank of advanced nuclear states' and had elevated their 'nuclear might to the next level', providing a weapon to defend against the United States - who they claim to have 'numerous and humongous nuclear weapons' - and its other enemies.

The broadcast concluded by saying: 'If there is no invasion on our sovereignty we will not use nuclear weapon. This H-bomb test brings us to a higher level of nuclear power.'

The successful detonation marks a major step in North Korea's nuclear development and is bound to cause considerable anxiety to neighbouring countries.
