Moroccan Man Dies while Being Smuggled to Spain in Suitcase

A Moroccan man has suffocated to death, while being smuggled into Spain. According to Spanish police that arrested his brother, who carried out the act, the man was put in a suitcase while being smuggled.

The men were taking a ferry from the Spanish territory of Melilla in north Africa to the port of Almeria in southern Spain when the older man noticed that his brother was not breathing and alerted the crew. Despite attempts to revive the man, he died.

Police have charged the surviving brother, who was travelling legally on a French passport, with involuntary manslaughter.
