Felabration "15: Femi Kuti, Simi, Praiz and Others Perform to Honor late Fela Kuti

The annual international music festival – Felabration 2015 – has begun, as it showcases a variety of talents including musicians, and comedians from all corners of the globe who come to pay respect to the legend, and celebrate his defining sound, Afrobeat.

Felabration is the brainchild of Yeni Kuti, the legend’s eldest offspring, and is held every year in honour of the Afrobeat creator, and music icon.

Chris Brown Releases Album Art For 'Royalty'

Chris Brown, has revealed the album cover for his new album, Royalty. He also announced a release date for the album which he announced is set for November 27th, aka Black Friday.

He seems to be officially kicking the promo into high gear, as he unveiled the cover art for the album today, October 16. As for album tracks, Chris Brown has released the single "Zero."

Felabration "15: Fela's American Lover leads Fela-worshipping Afrobeat Band

Fela’s Black-American lover, Sandra Izsadore (former Sandra Smith) took the stage in an unusual manner when she joined Newben Afrobeat Band from Chile and Femi Anikulapo-Kuti to perform her song with Fela, ‘Upside’. The Chilean Afrobeat band, with their sonorous voices and energetic Fela like movements described why they loved Fela and all he stood for, and in worship of the Afrobeat legend, Femi Kuti led the band to pay homage to Fela Anikulapo-Kuti with burning candles.

This band is not alone in its worship of the legend, as Femi also explained that there are people around the world who worship his late father Fela.

She shared three pictures of Linda Ikeji's home. Laura Ikeji also wrote that Linda did not rent the mansion nor is it a block of flats. Laura Ikeji also put up a picture of the view of the neighbourhood. Banana Island, is an artificial island off the foreshore of Ikoyi, Lagos. It is said to be one of the most expensive real estates in West Africa.

Fast and Furious 8: Vin Diesel confirms sequel will be set in New York

Producer and co-creator of the recording breaking 'Fast and Furious' franchise, Vin Diesel, has confirmed that the upcoming sequel in franchise 'Furious 8' will be shot in New York.

Diesel revealed this while on 'Tonight's Show with Jimmy Fallon. According to him, they are taking it back to where it all started from.

“New York, baby!” Diesel revealed when Fallon asked about the new film’s location.

“Something that people don’t know is the first movie came from a Vibe article that was about street racers in New York.

The director and producer at the time reset the whole movie in LA, but the Vibe article that the whole franchise was started from actually originated in New York. So we’re finally bringing it home baby!”

Furious 7' which was released April this year, brought in over $1.5bn in the global box office, contributing to Universal Studio's 2015 record breaking achievement. Diesel recently confirmed that there would be three more films in the franchise.

'Furious 8' which will debut  April 14, 2017, will be directed by 'Straight Outta Compton' director, F. Gary Gray.

Directed by James Wan, 'Furious 7' stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham and Ludacris.

3. Fitz fired Abby for putting Olivia under the slut bus last week. All thanks to Olivia who talked some sense into him, he rehired her.

4. Fitz decided to do the 'right thing.' He took his girlfriend Olivia Pope on a date, and as usual, it came with a hot dose  of Olitz make out session.

5. Finally, Mellie is set to lead the charge for impeachment of Fitz. She made the decision after Fitz made public appearance with Olivia - the one thing she asked him not to do.

Many are feared dead after an 18-seater commercial bus filled with passengers plunged into Arun river along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway today. Die Hard 6 - Bruce Willis' Action Series To Return With Origin Story

Die Hard 6 is officially in the works, with Live Free or Die Hard director, Len Wiseman returning to take Bruce Willis' John McClane on another action-packed adventure, Deadline reports.

The difference between this and other movies in the series is, instead of progressing, this is going back in time, as a prequel.

The first Die Hard film centered on Willis’ McClane, a tough New York cop who foils a terrorist plot in a corporate building at Christmastime.

Since then, McClane’s endeavors have escalated to impossible acts of heroism to straight-up heroes.

Director Len Wiseman and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura are searching for a screenwriter to develop a prequel story that will center on McClane in 1979 New York before the events of the first film.

The movie would feature a younger, grittier version of the action hero, and ideally tell the story of how McClane went from a street cop to the badass protagonist in the 1988 film.

But where does this leave Bruce Willis? The report suggests that the plan is for Die Hard 6 to have bookends featuring the older McClane — whether those segments would involve McClane facing a new mission or simply recalling his history remains unclear, but it seems unlikely that Willis would sign on to reprise the role if it left him so little to do.

CW cancels "America's Next Model" Show after 12 Years On Air

After 22 seasons and 12 years, CW has confirmed that the ongoing season of hit reality competition TV series ' America's Next Model' will be its end.

The series will come to an end after airing its finale which is set for December 4, 2015.

Tyra Banks who has hosted and executive  produced the show with Ken Mok since it premiered in May 2003 , shared the news via her Twitter platform.

America's Next Model' is one of CW's longest-running series. It premiered in 2003 on UPN and has aired 22 separate cycles.

The network is currently in talks about airing a retrospective special sometime in late 2016.

Osinbajo–Late Mrs Awolowo always stood for Nigeria’s unity

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on Sunday eulogised the late Chief Hannah Awolowo, saying she always stood for the unity of the nation all her life.

Osinbajo, who is a son-in-law to the deceased, spoke while commiserating with sympathisers at the Awolowo’s residence in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun.

The vice-president expressed regret that the matriarch, who died at the age of 99, did not live long enough to witness her centennial birthday celebration scheduled for Nov. 25.

He told the gathering that the deceased was a repository of knowledge and a custodian of information who was always concerned about the well being of her loved ones.

“We are in mourning and at the same time in celebration of the life of a woman who stood all her life for the unity of this nation.

“I think that one of the great things that has been said about her was her great love for people.

“She had a personal relationship with practically everybody, those who were her family members and those who were not.

“Mama was always a very caring, devoted and loving mother. She was a woman with so much fortitude, such strength of character and everything that you know about her.

“I pray that with her passage, all will be well with each and every one of us,” Osinbajo said.

The vice-president said Awolowo envisaged a Nigeria where people would not be defined by their tribe but by their interests in seeing the nation prosper without prejudice.

“She lived for this nation, everyday of her life, she wanted to see a great nation and I know that she had begun to see that great nation.

“The evolution of this nation in the past years had shown that we were on the right path and would get to our deserved destination.

“I believe that her memory would best be served by the kind of nation we would want to see – a united nation,’’ he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that on the vice president’s entourage during the visit were Mr Babachir Lawal, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and Dr Olusegun Mimiko, the governor of Ondo State.
